"Charged me multiple times with no mail or email notice. When I changed addresses they did not inform me that this would result in an increase to my premium. I recommend avoiding this insurer."

"I appreciate your feedback. When current policyholders move out of their parents’ household State Farm does readjust and/or remove any discounts that are no longer applicable. Also, insurance premiums do vary in the Portland area. Unfortunately, both of these issues affected your auto insurance premiums. It is our responsibility to communicate clearly with our customers to ensure a great experience, we work hard to do that, and obviously did not do that well in this case. "Like a lot of folks, I "inherited" an insurance company from my Dad. I've now had State Farm for 35 years and I've been satisfied enough to never look elsewhere. We've used Chris since moving to Portland in 2011. He and Barb provide excellent service. When I had a 2020 claim I felt State Farm -uncharacteristically- was being less than fair on, Chris went to bat for me to cure the issue. Five Stars"

"We went to cancel our policy because, wow, expensive. My wife was told "the agent would have to call you to cancel it." They gave her the address attached to the account, which was a place we'd never lived. Despite promises to call us back to cancel, it never happened. We delayed starting new insurance a week while they figured out how to use the telephone. That's a week of paying insurance we didn't want or need. I called on Friday, they said they never had a note to call. A meager apology later, it's finally set to be cancelled. State Farm sucks, this office helps it suck."
